Have you been keeping a notebook with you to jot down those snippets of overheard conversations? Keep one by your chair when you watch TV, too, because sometimes a phrase or two will resonate. And trust me, no matter how excited you are about it, chances are that an hour or two later you won’t remember it at all.
Write Over the Hump
Start with this actual overheard snippet of conversation (I kid you not!): “I thought I’d wait a few hours before I kill her…” You have 10 minutes. Go!
What happened when those few hours were up? And yes, I really overheard that one day. Check back next week and I’ll reveal the context.
