Letting Our Inner Critic Play

We all struggle with our annoying inner critic, so let’s give the critter free rein today. It might be interesting to see what happens if we turn our critic on someone else, let it rant about someone else’s foibles and failings. And we just might learn something about ourselves and our own writing process along the way.

Write Over the Hump

You are your own outspoken inner critic. Today you find yourself perched on the left shoulder of another writer. The writer sits down and begins work on a novel. What do you say to this writer as the words flow onto the page? You have 10 minutes, starting now.

What choice words did your inner critic have to say about what this other writer wrote?
